LeBron James Proposes During Star-Studded Birthday/NYE Affair At South Beach Hotel

[Miami Beach, FL] Miami Heat star LeBron James is getting married. The basketball behemoth recently popped the question on New Year’s Eve, which actually served as a trio of celebrations for the chosen one: NYE, his 27th birthday and his proposal to long-time girlfriend Savannah Brinson.

It all went down at the silky smooth Shelborne South Beach hotel, which recently underwent a two-year, $20 million rejuvenation. The hotel’s new Vesper American Brasserie restaurant was the stage for James’ shimmering, on bended knee proposal to Brinson who said … yes.

James’ star-studded affair included a bevy of A-listers (fellow teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as well as Queen Latifah, actress Sanaa Lathan, rapper Fat Joe, Lance Bass, supermodel Jessica White and actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler) and featured an hour of top-shelf entertainment, courtesy of fabulous singer Ms. Lauryn Hill (you know, from The Fugees) and rapper NAS.

Wait, Lance Bass?

Lebron James Popped The Question At The Shelborne South Beach

As for the birthday portion of the party, Lebron James was presented with a towering birthday cake that was “draped in swarovski crystals and edible 18 carat gold.”

James also conducted the NYE countdown with Bosh and Wade along with Shelborne owners Keith Menin and Jared Galbut, who couldn’t have asked for a better year-ender to highlight the iconic South Beach play place’s new-found glory.

Shelborne South Beach, owned and operated by Menin Hotels, is a 1940s-era art deco masterpiece that “features an unparalleled view of the Atlantic Ocean” and “South Beach’s most stunning beachfront playground,” according to the hotel’s press materials.

We haven’t actually been to the swanky, refurbished Shelborne South Beach so we can’t really verify those statements, but if it is good enough for LeBron James, NAS and Lance Bass, I’m sure we’ll find it to your satisfaction.

** CORRECTION **

An earlier version of this story mentioned that SL Nightclub was part of the Shelborne South Beach. It is not. We regret the error.
