Chris Tucker’s Woes Continue: Florida Home In Foreclosure, Cancels NY Show

[Montverde, FL] It has been a tumultuous few years for Chris Tucker, the star of such films as Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2 and, of course, Rush Hour 3.

Last year, the Internal Revenue Service filed papers indicating that Tucker owes $11,571,909.26 in federal taxes for multiple years (2001, 2002, 2004-2006), that according to celebrity news website TMZ.

To show how serious they were, they even slapped a lien on his Orlando-area mansion. Now that same home is in foreclosure.

According to court documents and reporting by the Orlando Sentinel, in 2007, the funny man paid$6 million for the 10,000-square-foot home, located on Lake Apopka. As of this month, he still owes $4.4 million to the bank. Appraisals estimate its current value at just over $1.5 million.

Ouch.

The fast talking actor, who also tours as a stand-up comedian, has been in trouble with the tax man in the past. TMZ reports that California state tax authorities had a $3.5 million lien against Tucker back  in 2009.

Now comes word via the Albany Times Union that he cancelled tonight’s stand-up comedy show at the Palace Theater in Albany, NY, for “unforeseen circumstances.” Huh? he’s Chris Tucker, how unforeseen can it be? That show was already a make-up date after he postponed his Albany appearance on Sept. 3.

Truth be told, Tucker could probably solve most of his financial problems if he signed on to do another Rush Hour film. For the last one, he got paid $25 million, according to IMDb.

Although the nineties were a good decade for Tucker – The Fifth Element, Dead Presidents, Jackie Brown, Money Talks, Friday – he has worked very little in Hollywood since 1998, only doing the three Rush Hour pics. He must have made someone with some juice very angry.

But things may be turning around as the actor-comedian is rumored to be among the cast of The Silver Linings Playbook, which is currently filming and stars Robert De Niro, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

Ladies you just dented an 81 Cutless Supreme, I need to see your license and registration. Brother you okay, you cool? HOW AND THE WORLD COULD ANYONE BE ANGRY WITH CHRIS TUCKER?

  2. Amp says:

Nobody has been angry with CT, his dumb ass just though he was stinking rich, he supposedly found god and refused every role that depicted black men negatively (which are the only role he could get and were exactly what he was famous for in the first place) now he is out of the lime light and dead broke. There was an article that claimed he was initially unwilling to call the Asian chick a bitch in RH3, but I bet his dumb ass would play Smokey in a heart beat for a few million dollars today.

    Bring Back Smokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
